Recognized Subspecialties

Council on Subspecialties and Sections

1.  Composition

   1.1 President as Chair

   1.2 Vice President

   1.3 Immediate Past President

   1.4 Secretary

   1.5 Presidents or designated representative of subspecialty societies WHO SHALL be a PPS Fellow and a

         Member of a PPS recognized subspecialty

   1.6 Section (Chairman) HEAD who is a PPS Fellow

2.   Functions

   2.1 Develop policies for the council

   2.2 Review and recommend for approval by Board of Trustees all subspecialty SOCIETY AND SECTION

         applications

   2.3 Define relations with corresponding PPS Committees

   2.4 Align programs with the goals and objectives of PPS

   2.5 Update the PPS Board of Trustees on the activities of subspecialty SOCIETIES AND SECTIONS

   2.6 Organize forum for discussion of subspecialty issues

   2.7 Recommend recognition and approval of only one (1) organization per subspecialty

   2.8 Coordinate with HAB to assure maintenance of high standard of training and service

   2.9 Coordinate with the PPS Specialty Board

3.   Specialty SOCIETY

   3.1 A SUBSPECIALTY SOCIETY SHALL BE COMPOSED EXCLUSIVELY OF PPS BOARD CERTIFIED DIPLOMATES, FELLOWS AND EMERITUS FELLOWS OF GOOD STANDING WITH (SPECIAL) EXPERTISE IN SPECIFIC DICIPLINES (AREAS THAT WILL REBOUND TO BETTER CHILD HEALTH)

   3.2 SHALL CONSIST OF AT LEAST SEVEN (7) PPS FELLOWS IN GOOD STANDING TO SERVE AS FOUNDING OFFICERS AND MEMBERS AS INCORPORATORS

   3.3 THE ORGANIZATION SHALL HAVE ITS CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS IN CONSONANCE WITH THOSE OF PPS AND SHALL BE DULY REGISTERED WITH THE  SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION (SEC)

4.   AFFILIATE SOCIETY

   4.1 A SUBSPECIALTY ORGANIZATION WHO'S MEMBERS ARE NON-PEDIATRICIANS WITH FORMAL TRAINING IN A SPECIALTY RELATED TO PEDIATRICS

5.   Sections -

   5.1 A section shall be a group not belonging to any of the existing recognized PPS  subspecialty  societies with (special) expertise in specific disciplines.

   5.2 Shall consist of a core group of at least THREE (3) PPS certified member with expertise in the specific disciplines

   5.3 Shall have a training program

   5.4 Head is appointed by PPS President, rules and guidelines for succession shall be set.

   5.5 Shall have sub-board for certification

   5.6 Members are graduates of formal fellowship program, board certified by PPS as Diplomate or Fellow and board certified by Section

   5.7 May apply for recognition as component subspecialty society upon submission of Constitution and By-Laws in conformity with PPS, Inc. and approved by SEC
