Greetings to all Students and Child Advocates!
The 46th PPS Annual Convention with the
theme “The Filipino Child’s Health Status: Old
Problems, New Questions And Future Directions” will
still be held at Philippine International Convention
Center on April 19-22, 2009 for your familiarity and
convenience with added attractions designed by the
organizing committee headed by Dr. Gener T. Becina.
More than just the previous conventions are changes
that address the times and thrusts that are
responsive to present trends and global challenges
that are adaptable for the children’s productive
life and survival. These will be placed in their
proper perspective of science and the practice of
pediatrics which will be tackled in this convention
as you will see from the list of topics and
speakers.
Once again, we enjoin all who have been to our
previous conventions. We invite first timers, too,
for you to experience the pleasant company of
pediatricians, the learning experience and the
metropolitan seaside weather on a warm summer day.
Let us have a feast for learning to enrich our
knowledge.

I
wish to extend my heartfelt greetings to everyone as
we celebrate the 46th Annual PPS
Convention.
This year’s theme, “The Filipino Child’s Health
Status: Old Problems, New Questions, Future
Directions” will open our eyes to the realities of
the present state of infant and child health in our
country. The lecture topics and symposia hope to
give answers to the health issues that have remained
unsolved. Yet, a bigger challenge is posed to us to
address the present health concerns. More
importantly, this convention hopes to bring us all
together to act as one in improving the life of the
Filipino child.
And while getting involved in these issues, I enjoin
you to rekindle old ties and friendships, enjoy the
fellowship and make new acquaintances.
My
warmest congratulations and sincerest gratitude to
the Organizing Committee who selflessly gave their
time and effort in making this convention a truly
meaningful and fruitful one.
